Slab pots are made from sheets of clay which are then manipulated to form a pot or sculpture. The sheets can be formed by rolling out the clay with a rolling pin, slab roller, wire cutting from a block of clay or opening out a thrown cylinder or extruded tube.
Clay is forced through a shape or die which then can be manipulated or added to other clay structures. The clay produced can be a solid or hollow form depending on the shape or pattern of the die

Clay can be extruded or hand rolled into clay strings which can then be joined together to form a pot. This can then be scraped or smoothed to give the vessel form.
